Dayspring Bank and FHLBank Topeka Award $100,000 to Gothenburg Volunteer Fire Department

Dayspring Bank, Gothenburg and FHLBank Topeka will award $100,000 to the Gothenburg Volunteer Fire Department to help with Cottonwood Fire recovery efforts. Dayspring Bank received a matching grant to support their efforts through FHLBank Topeka’s Community Assistance Recovery Effort (CARE) Program.

 The funds will be used to assist with supplies and repairs needed following with the Cottonwood Fire.

“We’re proud to partner with FHLBank Topeka to bring meaningful support to the Gothenburg Volunteer Fire Department. After the impact of the Cottonwood Fire, it’s critical that our local responders have the resources they need to continue protecting and serving our community.” said Travis Anderson, Market President of Dayspring Bank.

As a member of FHLBank Topeka, Dayspring Bank has access to products and services to help their community thrive. The CARE Program was created in 2025 to help FHLBank member financial institutions support their communities after a FEMA-declared disaster. The program matches $3 for every $1 an FHLBank member contributes to disaster relief efforts.
