Debit Card Fraud

We want to acknowledge the recent debit card fraud activity that has affected some Dayspring Bank customers and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience it has caused.

Over the past week, criminals have targeted debit cards through what is known as a "brute force" attack. In simple terms, fraudsters use automated technology to test debit card information in an attempt to identify valid cards and process unauthorized transactions. Financial institutions across the country continue to face increasingly sophisticated fraud attempts like these, and Dayspring Bank is committed to continually enhancing safeguards to protect our customers. While many of these attempts are stopped before they impact a customer, some have resulted in fraud alerts, disputed transactions, and debit card replacements.

We understand the disruption this creates. Waiting for a new debit card, updating automatic payments and subscriptions, changing payment information with merchants, reviewing account activity, or making an unexpected trip to the bank are not things anyone wants to add to an already busy schedule. Whether it interrupted your day, affected travel plans, or simply created frustration, we recognize the impact this has had on our customers and their families.

As these attacks continue to evolve across the banking industry, we are actively working with our partners to strengthen the tools, monitoring, and safeguards designed to protect our cardholders and reduce future disruptions.

Most importantly, please know that we take the trust you place in us seriously. Protecting your accounts and personal information remains one of our highest priorities, and we are committed to providing the personal service and support you expect from Dayspring Bank.

If you notice any suspicious activity on your account or have questions about your debit card, please contact your local Dayspring Bank branch. We also encourage you to review the Frequently Asked Questions below, which address common concerns and provide additional information about this recent fraud activity.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued trust.
